Name: Tippi McCullough
Quiver:
Gary Fisher 29er hardtail Excaliber
Birthday/Age: 10-1-63 (45)
Occupation:
English teacher, head varsity basketball coach at Mount St. Mary Academy
Favorite trails: Cedar Glades, Vista, Womble
Favorite race:
Have only done one with a mtn. bike: X-terra off road tri 2009
Best finish: 3rd in age group
Favorite riding food: Hammer Gel, PowerBar Harvest Grain Toffee Chocolate Chip or PB Choc. Chip, PBJ sandwich
Riding goals: To get better technical skills
and to compete
Why do you ride: To be fit and in the woods away from traffic. And nothing narrows
my focus like being on a mtn. bike in a rock garden or on a bench-cut.
What kind of advice would you give to beginner riders: Stay
with it. You will get to feel less fearful the more you ride. It is all about experience. The fear will
turn into fun!
Worst wipeout: The Tsali trails in North Carolina this summer (2009). I fell in two different
creek beds on two different days and cried like a baby the first time and the second time everyone just said "don't even
look at your elbow!"
